
Songwriting and music making is a collaborative activity which has a strong
resonance with most young people. Participation in music making can be an
effective tool as a means of expressing ideas, to externalise feelings, as
a positive group activity, for skills development or as an adjunct to
counselling and therapy. Technology brings music making within the grasp
of anyone who can use a use a word processor. The aim of this workshop is
to provide the basic skills needed to create songs and to make music -
even if you don’t sing or play an instrument! Participants will explore
interactive music making as an expressive tool and will examine a range
of music making activities.
